Ralph Allwood, Precentor and Director of Music at Eton College, conducts the Eton College Chapel Choir in this new recording made at Eton College Chapel. The title of this new Cd (Langlais Messe Solennelle, French Sacred Music for Choir and Organ) provides an interesting insight into Sacred French Music at the turn of the XXth century. Allwood selected works by Severac, Dupré, Roger-Ducasse, Poulenc, Messiaen and Villette to accompany Langlais "Messe Solennelle". Playing the organ, David Goode, Head of Keyboard at Eton College, brilliant organist in residence at First Congregational Church in Los Angeles, accompanies the choir and plays organ soli (Roger-Ducasse Pastorale and Messiaen "Institution du Saint-Sacrement" - Livre du Saint-Sacrement).
