Dedication Recital celebrating the installation of the Casavant organ (op.2016) featuring James David CHRISTIE assisted by students from the Atonement Academy in an Homage to Jean LANGLAIS, in observance of centenary of his birth : american premiere of "Messe d'Escalquens", motets for 2 equal voices and organ, solo organ pieces (Incantation pour un Jour Saint, Chant de paix, Acclamations Carolingiennes) and an Elegie composed in 2006 by James David CHRISTIE, dedicated to the memory of Jean Langlais
Other composers played : Buxtehude, Reincken, Bach, Tournemire.

For Jean Langlais centenary celebration, the french "Choeur de l'Armée Française, will present in the first part of his programme an Homage to Langlais at the Paris Cathedral Saint-Louis des Invalides. The Choir, directed by Pascale JEANDROZ, will perform Langlais "Salve Regina Mass", and three motets : "Tu es Petrus", "Oremus pro Pontifice" and "O Salutaris".

Princeton Université Chapel will host the french organist Marie-Louise Langlais on february 15, 2007, for an organ recital in celebration of the centenary of the birth of her late husband, the composer Jean Langlais. The programme will consist in french organ music, César Franck and Charles Tournemire, Langlais predecessors at the organ of the Basilica of Sainte-Clotilde in Paris, and of course, a large part will be given to Jean Langlais works.

LANGLAIS ORGAN COMPETITION
Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, New-York City
The French Organ Music Seminar/Langlais organ competition was held at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New-York City, in honour of the centenary of Langlais's birth.
The finalists played works by Franck and Langlais. The competition was open to organists ages 15-25 and judged anonymously by Marie-Louise Langlais, Terence Flanagan and Arthur Lawrence.
The first-place winner was Samuel GASKIN(Beaumont, Tx), a 15 year-old student of Christina Harmon and Jerome Wells; second place to John ALEXANDER (Greensboro, NC), and two third place winners : Adam BRAKEL (Pittsburgh, Pa) and Joseph ARNDT (Westminster Choir College).
As the first-place winner, Mr GASKIN played in Marie-Louise Langlais's master-class held at Brick Presbyterian Church during the New-York City AGO Chapter's annual Presidents'Day Conference.
